Hollywood Loves to Kill Actress GILLIAN S. SHURE
Shure Named ‘Queen of Hollywood Splatterfests’
Los Angeles – Actress GILLIAN S. SHURE, crowned “Queen of Hollywood Splatterfests 2009” by LA Weekly, is taking the entertainment industry by storm, one horror-flick at a time. But this 5-foot 10-inch tall, sexy redhead is out to prove she’s more than just the typical victim.
Shure has caught the eye of Hollywood by taking the brunt of guns, blades and even a toy tank in numerous horror films, including “The Slaughterhouse Massacre,” “Hollywood Kills,” “Dead and Gone,” “Animals,” and the hit Shia LeBouf vehicle “Disturbia.”
This month, Shure can be seen on both big and small screens. Up first, the horror/thriller “Hollywood Kills” will release on DVD on July 21st. Shure plays a Hollywood starlet who falls victim to an insane, reclusive film Director who twists Hollywood dreams into fiendish torture.
And then, Shure will appear in “Death In Charge,” a new comedic short film about death (of course) from award winning Director Devi Snively, scheduled to screen on July 25th at both San Diego’s infamous Comic Con and the Academy Award qualifying LA Shorts Fest. Shure plays a dysfunctional young mom who doesn’t notice that the babysitter has been replaced by Death.
“I started thinking the other day about the ways I’ve been killed,” Shure says. “I’ve been chopped up. I’ve been raped and murdered. Shot twice. Eviscerated, that’s my favorite.”
This rising star isn’t always being sliced and diced. The Ann Arbor, Michigan native has appeared on numerous television shows including “CSI” and “The Unit.” Shure earned her acting chops and a Theater Arts degree from the University of Southern California, and has gone on to receive glowing reviews for her work in films, television and the stage.
Never content with just waiting for the phone to ring, Shure is branching out into a whole new direction and creating her own projects. Up first, she is producing and starring in the new comedic short film “Bikini Diet,” which she also co-wrote with Anne Girard.
