Kill Bill inspires fashion line

Kill Bill, the timeless take of revenge by Quentin Tarantino, has inspired Kimberley Newport-Mimran, designer for Pink Tartan, to design an “urban warrior” themed line, reports the the Edmonton Sun.
Newport-Mimran said the designs were for a “strong woman, who’s sexy and feminine at the same time.” Her muse was Uma Thurman in the Kill Bill movies. Pink Tartan has designed for some of Hollywood’s leading actresses, such as Kim Catrall, Kate Hudson, and Maggie Gyllenhaal.
The line features super-short dresses and jackets with a “futuristic twist”: the shoulder pads are on the outside. It also features many sleeveless numbers, like sleeveless trench coats, sleeveless hooded coats, and one-shouldered dresses. It plays on curves, with waist cinching and large belt-buckles. Exposed zipper, stripes, and Robin-Hood style hats were also featured in the runway show.
The 2010 spring-summer collection debuted at LG Fashion Week last night.
