Jahmings Maccow "Man Redemption" Review

Advert
CD Reviews Share
Jahmings Maccow is taking reggae music back to its sources by focusing on the storytelling. Stories told about love, society, life, and oppression. Jahmings was raised in Anguilla Island and moved to the rough streets of the South Bronx. His songs tend to be very personal, producing stories that ask the big questions of life and human existence. He was highly influenced by legendary Reggae musicians like; Bob Marley, Gregory Issacs, Johnny Clarke, and Jacob Miller.

Maccow is also a guitarist, and songwriter. He was inspired by Bob Marley primarily in his ability to reach high vocals that matches that of Marley. The lyrics of his new album Man Redemption address both spiritual and modern-day issues. The title track “Let Them Grow” provided a melodious mixture of an acoustic guitar and an electric guitar solo. Set Me Free is livelier, lengthy and held a “doubletracked guitar passage”.
