Rihanna has finally agreed to speak about the assault at the hands of then-boyfriend Chris Brown last February, reports Rolling Stone.
The 21-year-old singer told Glamour "I went to sleep as Rihanna and woke up as Britney Spears. That was the level of media chaos that happened the next day."
"I am stronger, wiser and more aware. You don't realize how much your decisions affect people you don't even know, like fans," Rihanna continued.
Rihanna was chosen by Glamour as one of their Women of the Year, along with Maria Shriver, Michelle Obama, Amy Poehler, Dr. Maya Angelou, and others reports All Headline News. The singer will grace the cover of the magazine, which is due out Nov. 10.
Glamour’s editor-in-chief Cindi Leive said that by “breaking her silence about what she calls the 'big secret' of domestic violence, she's also sending an important message to young women that they too can move on, and succeed, after personal challenges," said Glamour editor-in-chief Cindi Leive.
Rihanna will appear Thursday and Friday on Good Morning America and Friday night on 20/20, according to E! Online. "This happened to me … it can happen to anyone," she told Diane Sawyer during the interview.
