Taylor Swift, who said she’s a fan of John Mayer, got the chance to work with one of her favorite artists. Mayer told MTV News that he and Swift perform the duet “Half of My Heart” on his upcoming album, Battle Studies.
"She is on the record," Mayer said, adding that the collaboration started to come together via a tweet to Swift. "Well, you know, tweeting it is more just sort of the exposition of my idea … it's not like she reads the tweet and goes, 'I'm in,' although she may have. I don't remember," Mayer said.
Despite Mayer's faulty memory, Swift confirms it all started with Twitter. "I was so excited when he Twitter-messaged me." Swift said, according to AngryApe. "He was like, 'Hey, I just wrote this song this morning and I can only hear you singing on it with me.' I was like, 'Yes!'"
Mayer said that the song will feature him on lead vocals with Swift backing him up on the Fleetwood Mac-inspired track, reports Rolling Stone.
