Lady GaGa will appear at the Royal Variety Performance Dec. 9, where she will sing for guests including the Queen of England, reports NME.
The often-controversial Lady GaGa is an unusual choice for the show, which generally sticks to “artists from light entertainment,” according to Telegraph. Lady GaGa is best known for her dramatic performances and unusual fashion sense.
Joining Lady GaGa at this year’s show include Bette Midler, Michael Bublé, Miley Cyrus, and Whoopi Goldberg, reports the UK Press Association. “Britain’s Got Talent” winners Diversity, an urban dance group, will also perform as part of their prize.
The Royal Variety Performance will take place at Blackpool’s Opera House, the first time the show will take place there since 1955. Comedian Peter Kay will host the show, which will be broadcast on ITV1 later next month.
The event raises funds for the Entertainment Artistes’ Benevolent Fund, of which the Queen is a patron.
