Headlines surfaced on Monday about public displays of affection that were made between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie during Super Bowl XLIV in Miami on Sunday night.
If their affectionate displays were not enough to diffuse all rumors about a potential breakup, then a statement that was released by the couple’s lawyer, Keith Schilling, will undoubtedly send shockwaves through the celebrity rumor mill that had been projecting the downfall of the popular couple’s relationship for weeks.
Schilling’s statement addressed the status of Pitt and Jolie’s relationship by denying rumors that were introduced by the ‘News of the World’ publication in Britain. ‘News of the World’ initially unveiled stories about the couple meeting with a divorce lawyer to discuss a settlement, according to People.com. Schilling’s statement reads, “We can confirm unequivocally that the allegations published by the News of the World are false as well as intrusive.”
Sorrell Trope, the divorce attorney who “News of the World’ alleged to be involved in a settlement between Pitt and Jolie, has also released a statement to deny reports that were made by the aforementioned publication. People.com is reporting that Pitt and Jolie have commenced proceedings against ‘News of the World’ for making false allegations about their relationship though it is unknown as to whether or not they will go after other media sources that falsely reported about a potential breakup.
