The cover for Sports Illustrated’s 2010 swimsuit issue was revealed Monday night on ‘The Late Show With David Letterman’. A sheet was removed to reveal which supermodel made the cover this year and a billboard version of the Sports Illustrated cover in Times Square showed that 22-year-old model Brooklyn Decker had been selected by the publication. She had been featured in S.I.’s annual swimsuit issue for the past five years but the 2010 issue marks the first time that she has been featured on the magazine’s cover.
The 22-year-old model responded to her fans on Twitter who expressed their admiration and support for her achievement. Decker tweeted, “THANK YOU EVERYONE!!! I wish I could respond to every single one of you but thank you so much for your AMAZINGLY sweet tweets!” Decker debuted in Sports Illustrated’s swimsuit issue at the age of 18 five years ago and she has been featured in the swimsuit issue every year since her debut, according to SeattlePi.com.
Decker’s appearance in the magazine’s swimsuit issue in 2007 influenced tennis star Andy Roddick to have his agent get him into contact with her. They instantaneously hit it off and have been together ever since. According to SeattlePi.com, Decker and Roddick have been married since April of 2009.
