Apparently, everyone does have a price, and Elton John's is more than $33 million. The legendary singer reportedly turned down $33 million to replace “American Idol” host Simon Cowell, according to Access Hollywood.
Cowell originated the British series “Pop Idol” that “American Idol” is based off of. He has been serving on the judging panel as the one that everyone loved to hate. He usually offered constructive criticism and told the auditioning singers what was on his mind without sugar-coating his comments. The show is now on its ninth season, and Cowell's last.
John is a logical choice to replace Cowell, and was a guest judge on season three, but the singer probably has other things to do. The announcement of Cowell's official replacement won't take place until the season finale where the ninth idol will be crowned, airing on May 26.
